Unplug and recharge: a prescription for better health

Can I get real with you for a sec? Have you ever been mindlessly scrolling Instagram or Facebook, and suddenly felt this nagging sense of anxiety, anger, or even jealousy creep in? And you can't quite put your finger on why?

It's so easy to get sucked into that endless scroll, that constant dopamine hit of new content. When was the last time your phone was actually out of reach? I'm talking no joke - I've seen ads telling people to gamble on their phones while sitting on the toilet! That can't be healthy, right?

Have you stopped to think about how all this screen time might be impacting your overall well-being? Studies have shown that too much tech can seriously mess with our physical, mental, and emotional health. We're talking eye strain, poor posture, increased stress and anxiety, lack of focus, impulsivity - you name it. And that's just in us adults. The effects can be even more detrimental for young, developing brains.

Now contrast that with the benefits of getting out in nature. Spending even a few minutes outdoors can boost your vitamin D, lift your mood, and lower stress levels. Not to mention, it's been linked to cognitive improvements too. Sounds like a no-brainer when you put it that way, doesn't it? And yet...we still find ourselves zombie-scrolling more often than not.

That's why I want to talk to you about the importance of unplugging and giving yourself a much-needed digital detox. Relax, I'm not saying you need to go full off-the-grid hermit or anything! It's just about finding balance and making time to reconnect with the real, 3D world around us.

It can be as simple as avoiding screens after dinner time. Or leaving your phone in another room when you go to bed at night (crazy concept, I know!). You could even just remove those most tempting app icons from your home screen to give you a moment's pause before mindlessly opening them.

Lowering your overall screen time opens up opportunities to spend quality face-to-face time with loved ones, take a relaxing stroll outdthe house, or even indulge in some delicious solitude with a hot bath, some honey soap and our luxurious royal jelly face cream.

At the end of the day, we only get one kick at this crazy life. Being more conscious about our tech habits and setting up some reasonable guidelines can help us make the most of it. Who's with me?
